Watch Dogs 2 Trophy Roadmap

Step 1: Complete all Trophy-Related Operations (All Main Missions & 4 Side Missions)

Simply play through the game and have fun with it. You'll get the majority of trophies automatically throughout the story. Watch Dogs 2 is a very easy, quick and straight forward platinum.

You must complete all main story missions. Most side missions can be skipped. You only need these 4 side missions for trophies: eKart Challenge, Shadow, Ubistolen, $911.

Step 2: Open World Activities & Miscellaneous Trophies

At this point you may have a few open world activities left (participating in the different types of racing events for example). You may also be short by a few misc trophies (e.g. jump 140 meters aboard a vehicle). You can mop up everything after beating the main story.

Step 3: Find All Key Data Collectibles

Now that you've beaten the story lots of new abilities will be at your disposal. This will make it easier to get certain collectibles. There are only 24 Key Data locations. Their locations actually show up on the map when you press Triangle on a Key Data skill in the research app. They require you to complete puzzles which can be a bit tricky at times. Refer to the trophy "Researcher" if you have any trouble.

Step 4: Online Trophies

There are 5 quick and easy bronze trophies that require you to play online (and technically that makes the platinum an online trophy, too). For the trophy "Ong of the Gang" you will need to play in Co-Op. It is possible to team up with a random person for it but works far better with a reliable partner. Try to find someone to do this trophy with you. As of patch 1.08 there are reports that these events also show up when you play solo offline (must disconnect PS4 from internet).

You can interchange any of these steps and do it in whatever order you like. It really doesn't matter. If you want to go straight for the collectibles you can. Or if you want to get all the miscellaneous / online stuff out of the way you can do that too. Everything in the open world is fully accessible from the beginning (after first main mission). Just certain devices require a tiny bit of story progress and having better equipment helps with the online trophies.

	Graduation Day Win every trophy
Unlock all other trophies in Watch Dogs 2 to earn platinum (DLC not required).
	Who Am I Erase your past identity in the Blume servers
Story-related, unlocks during the Prologue (unmissable).
	Put Your Damn Pants On Buy some pants after the party
After reaching the open world go buy pants at any shop.
	Menace Buy a two handed weapon at the 3D printer
After the Prologue your first mission is to head to the hacker HQ. In here is a 3D Printer where you can make 3D-printed weapons. Buy any two handed weapon (Sniper Rifle, Assault Rifle…) and this will unlock. You can return here at any time to buy weapons.
	In Style Buy the Gatorfeet Whine Country footwear
Go to the clothing store "Plainstock" in Oakland (eastern part of the map). They sell pink Gatorfeet shoes. The exact name is "Gatorfeet Whine Country" and they cost $65. You can fast travel to the store by pressing Square (PS4) / X (XB1) on the world map. Can be done from the beginning.
	DedSec-A-Roni Ride a cable car
Cable Cars are driving around the inner city of San Francisco near the Transamerica Pyramid. Go to the location from the video. Either follow the tracks on the road or wait for a cable car to arrive. They only drive around a very small area.
	Only God Can Judge Me Buy a shirt in the Nudle vending machine
Fast travel to the "Nudle Vending Machine" in the south of Silicon Valley. It is marked on the map from the beginning. Buy a T-Shirt for $5 from the vending machine and the trophy will unlock.
	Doggyland Pet 10 dogs
For this you can pet the same dog 10 times in a row. You will frequently find dogs throughout the open world. A fixed spawn point can be found at Pier 39 by the restaurant (north of San Francisco). When you fast travel here a dog will always spawn. You can also find many dogs at the beach when it's sunny outside.
	Photobombed! Get photobombed in a selfie
Simply walk around with your camera until someone makes a funny pose. The NPCs will do this very frequently when you aim the camera at them. Works well on sidewalks.
	A Ride to Remember Drive one of the Unique Vehicles
Unique Cars will show up on the map when you go near them. They are in fixed locations. There are lots of them and once you find one you can have it delivered to you for free at any time. Go to the location in the video (Port of Oakland) and press the right stick to scan the area. A blue car icon will show up when you get close to it. Hack the huge container crane to make a path. Once you're at the top use the skill "Vehicle Directional Hack" to move the car out of the container. This is one of the basic skills that costs 2 research points. The trophy unlocks when entering the vehicle.
	Bad Boys Hijack a boat
Boats can be found on the water. Many of them can be found near the Yacht Club in Marin (northern part of map).
	Something To Ride Hijack a bus
Busses are randomly appearing in traffic. They are driving around everywhere but spawn most frequently in the inner city of San Francisco. When you see one go steal it (press Triangle to hijack).
	Researcher Collect all the Key Data hidden in the world
There are 24 pieces of Key Data in Watch Dogs 2. Finding all of them unlocks the Researcher trophy / achievement. It is also needed to buy certain skills and upgrades. The Key Data locations are shown to you in-game and are easy to find. Open the research App on your phone and press Triangle (PS4) / Y (XB1) on a key data skill. It will show you the rough search area on the map, not always the exact location. You can use the Quadcopter and press Right Stick to scan the world for nearby collectibles. Figuring out the solutions to these puzzles is the harder part. Many of them require the RC Jumper or Quadcopter (RC Jumper is one of the first story unlocks, Quadcopter must be bought in Hacker HQ). One key data requires the skill "Environmental RC" (costs 2 research points). All the others can be found without the use of skill upgrades. You can reach every key data very early in the game, after you unlock the research app. They will be saved instantly when you pick them up. Nothing is missable. In the research app you can see which ones you've found. 	Smooth Felon Escape a Level 5 felony
Go to the location from the video and start shooting around until someone calls the cops. Kill the police to quickly raise your wanted level. At level 5 drive through the underground parking garages. Close the doors behind you by pressing L1+X (PS4) / LB+A (XB1). Inside the last garage you lock the door by pressing L1+Triangle / LB+Y. When the door is powered down nobody can enter. This effect runs out after a few seconds so you must quickly power it up and down again if cops are outside. If they didn't see you driving into the garage (your radar turned yellow) this should be easy. After your radar turns yellow you must stay out of sight for 1 minute. If this route doesn't work on the first try just drive through all the parking garages again at higher speed. Try to be out of sight by the time you reach the last garage.
	Miniroadtrip! Drive 4 km in the world while driving the Merengue from Elek Motors
The Merengue can be bought from Total Motors car dealerships. It is a standard class vehicle and costs $43125. After the purchase it can be grabbed from the car dealer's garage or you use the "Car on Demand" app to have it delivered to you. Now drive 4 km with this car (2.5 miles). Just drive along a highway and you'll have this in no time. The trophy pops after stopping the vehicle, not while you are driving.
	Knock You Out Do a stealth takedown on 30 enemies
Sneak up to 30 enemies from behind and perform a melee takedown on them. There are countless opportunities for this throughout the game. If you've already beaten every mission you can find restricted areas on the map where enemies will respawn (highlighted in red on the map when they are nearby). Many of those restricted areas contain Key Data. When you follow the video for the "Researcher" trophy you'll come to many of these restricted areas and can farm stealth kills there.
	Jump Around Do a 140 meters long jump while driving a vehicle
For this I recommend you use the fastest motorcycle called "Sayonara". You can purchase it at elite car dealerships and have it delivered to you. Go to the location from the video and use the ramp to perform a long stunt jump. If this gives you trouble buy the skill "Engine Override" which unlocks Nitro. With the extra nitro speed it will be much easier (but it's not absolutely required).
	Earn your Sea Legs Do a sailboat race
A sailboat race can be played at the Yacht club in Marin (north of the map). After the first few story missions it gets marked on the map via a green icon. Finish this one race and the trophy is yours. To enter the race you must first buy a boat at the Yacht club. The cheapest one costs $3000. You don't have to win the race, just complete it.
	Roboteer Hack a robot
Fast travel to the Nudle Vending Machine in the south of Silicon Valley (where you also get the trophy "Only God Can Judge Me"). There are robots driving around the campus and trying to scan new visitors. Press L1+X on one of them to unlock the trophy.
	Third Time's the Charm Make 3 jumps in a row aboard a vehicle
This should come naturally without trying. In fact, it was my first trophy in the open world without me trying to get it. Just drive around and sometimes there will be a few bumps in the road that make you jump a little bit. Or drive up a hill with a bike. It doesn't have to be long jumps, you just need to lift off the ground for a few inches. When you drive off-road you'll get this in a matter of seconds.
	Hold My Hair Take a picture of someone vomiting
A great location for this is near the bar at Jack London Square (the Pier in Oakland). Vomiting people will often spawn at the pier. They show up RANDOMLY! So depending on your luck this may take a little while. Look out for drunk people / the ones that look sick. I found 4 vomiting people in 15 minutes. Just run up and down the pier for a while. The daytime doesn't matter for this. It works at day and night.
	Let Me Ride Travel 200 meters on top of a car by hacking it
First you must buy the skill "Vehicle Directional Hack" (costs 2 research points). With this skill you can remote control vehicles. Just climb on the roof of a car and press L1+Triangle (PS4) / LB+Y (XB1).
	One of the Gang Complete 5 DedSec Events
Online Trophy DedSec events show up randomly while free-roaming in co-op. You will receive a text pop-up in the top left corner when they are nearby. Again, they are random so this could take a while. As of patch 1.08 they may also show up solo when your PS4 is disconnected from the internet (PS4 Settings > Network > Connect to Internet > Uncheck). Just drive around the open world with your co-op buddy to find more of these events. There are 3 DedSec Event types: Upload Virus: must upload a virus and kill waves of enemies during the upload. The enemies can be really tough and have heavy armor. The strongest sniper rifle (from 3D Printer in Hacker Space) can kill them in one shot. Hack the Hacker: approach the NPC hacker and initiate a download of their profile. Best strategy is to melee the hacker (or kill him by other means) so he can't run away. Both players should stay near his body for a fast download. Some enemies may arrive – try to hide so the police won't get involved. Eliminate Car Driver: these happen mostly while on foot. When you walk around a vehicle with a purple marker may show up. Eliminate the driver. For me these showed up most frequently right after joining a co-op partner. Both co-op partners should stay fairly close together. Not only are the events easier with two people but they seem to trigger much more often when both players are together (in the same named region). I was just driving all over the map with the fastest car (my co-op partner in the car with me) and it took around 2 hours to find 5 events. If you don't find anything within 15 minutes quit the session and team up again. Events pop up more frequently at the start of sessions. So making a new session after a while helps. If absolutely nothing shows up for more than 30 minutes both players should reboot the game.
	Natural Born Killer Neutralize 1 Hunter in Bounty Hunter mode
Online Trophy Press Options Button > Multiplayer > Bounty Hunter > Trigger Bounty. In this mode you will be hunted by real players and the police. The real players that join the match are the "hunters". Kill one enemy player to unlock this. A good strategy is to place explosives with the quadcopter (requires skill upgrades to unlock). Or buy the strongest sniper rifle that kills enemies in 1 shot. If you can't find any players go to Game Settings > Online Preference > make sure they are all turned on. You can also initiate a level 5 police chase and wait for hunters to join you. This is often more reliable and finds enemy players automatically. The option to play online unlocks after the first main mission.
	Please Marcus, Don't Hurt Them Successfully neutralize 5 fugitives in Bounty Hunter
Online Trophy Press Options Button > Multiplayer > Bounty Hunter > Find a Target. In this mode you play as a hunter and must kill an enemy player that is being chased by the police. A good strategy is to place explosives with the quadcopter near them and trigger a remote detonation (requires skill upgrades to unlock). Or buy the strongest sniper rifle that kills enemies in 1 shot. The option to play online unlocks after the first main mission.
	Hold My Hand Successfully complete an online Co-op Operation
Online Trophy Press Options Button > Multiplayer > Online Co-Op > Launch. This will let you join a co-op match. You might join a co-op mission that is already in progress or you might end up with another player in free roam. In free roam you can drive to a co-op mission and trigger it from there. Co-Op missions are marked with purple icons on the world map. You can also go to these icons in a solo game but it doesn't usually find any players or takes a long time to find someone. The option to play online unlocks after the first main mission.
	Feeding Frenzy Use the "Call the cops" hack on the donut-disguised man in Haight-Ashbury
This can be done in San Francisco. Near the "Dye Dude Kiosk" (marked on map) there's a donut shop. At daytime you can find a man here wearing a donut costume. He does not spawn at night, only by day during business hours. To get the trophy you must buy the skills "APB: Suspect Located" & "Botnet Upgrade" (6 research points required). Now call the cops on the donut guy via the skill. They will come to arrest him. You may also want to take a picture of the donut guy before he gets arrested. He counts as a ScoutX Challenge (for Got the Shutterbug trophy).
	Troll'r Successfully invade another hacker
Online Trophy As the trophy description says, invade one hacker in an online event and complete the hack 100%. These events are marked by purple icons on the world map as "Hacking Invasion Activities". After initiating the hack you must stay hidden and wait for the progress bar to reach 100% to pop the trophy. If you don't complete the hack 100% it won't unlock.
	Got The Shutterbug Take 25 ScoutX location pictures
Open the app "ScoutX" on your phone. It will show you the distance to the nearest ScoutX picture. You must use your camera to make pictures of certain sights in the open world of Watch Dogs 2. There are 57 pictures in total, you only need 25 for this. When you are very close to a picture you also receive a popup notification on your phone. The ScoutX app shows you a picture of what you must photograph so this is quite easy to find on your own. Taking these pictures also gives you new fans which is helpful for unlocking new skills.
	One-Man Garage Buy 25 cars in car dealerships
Car dealerships are marked by blue icons all over the map. There are two types of dealerships "Total Motors" and "Auto Elite". Total Motors has the cheaper cars which is better suited for this trophy. Buy the cheapest 25 cars and you shouldn't have any trouble with this if you aren't wasteful. Just save up all your money for these cars till the end of the story. There are two fast ways to make money: replay races (bike races etc.) or look for money bags in the open world. Money bags usually have around $15,000 but many of them require skill upgrades or the Quadcopter to be reached. Some of the cheapest cars can be purchased for as little as $2000. The ones in the category "Standard Vehicles" are the cheapest. When buying all the cheapest vehicles at Total Motors you'll need a total of $269,000 to buy 25 different cars!
	Pimp My eKart Get all the eKart upgrades
Unlocked during the Side Operation "eKart Challenge". This side operation is unlocked early in the game after the first few main missions. You will have to win some eKart Races and collect eKart upgrades as part of this operation. After finding the second eKart upgrade the trophy unlocks.
	App'ing Around Buy all the apps in the App Shop
Just click the X-Button on all phone apps to download them. Can be done as soon as you enter the open world after the Prologue.
	I Get Around Do a drone race
Drone Races show up on the map after progressing a little bit in the story and purchasing the drone from the Hacker HQ. They will be marked by green icons on the map. Do any one of these races and the trophy will unlock.
	Ain't No Stopping Do a bike race
Bike Races show up on the map after progressing a little bit in the story. They will be marked by green icons on the map. Do any one of these races and the trophy will unlock.
	The Fox Finish Operation: Shadow
This requires you to complete the side mission "Shadow". I triggered this mission after beating the main story. See screenshot below for starting point:

For this you must complete the side mission "$911". As you explore the open world some orange icons will show up on the map. They are called "Operation Intel". These trigger side missions. Investigate all the Operation Intel you come across until it gives you this mission. You can still do this after beating the story.
